Surgical Spirit is an all-purpose cleaning and sterilising solution. It is used to clean and disinfect surfaces, as well as to sterilise skin before injections or other medical procedures. Surgical Spirit is also used to harden and tighten the skin of the feet, and to relieve itching and pain from insect bites.

Specifications

• Active ingredient: methyl salicylate 0.5% v/v
• Other ingredients: industrial methylated spirit 95% v/v, diethyl phthalate, and virgin castor oil
• Size: 500mL bottle

Usage

To clean and disinfect surfaces, apply Surgical Spirit to a clean cloth or sponge and wipe the surface thoroughly. To sterilise skin, apply Surgical Spirit to a cotton ball or pad and wipe the skin in a circular motion.

Contradictions

Do not use Surgical Spirit on broken skin, or on areas of skin that are inflamed or infected. Do not use Surgical Spirit if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.

Warnings

Storage

Store Surgical Spirit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
