Difflam Throat Spray is an over-the-counter medication used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with sore throat, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and mouth ulcers. It is a local anesthetic and anti-inflammatory agent that is applied topically as a spray. The active ingredient in Difflam Throat Spray is benzydamine hydrochloride, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by blocking the production of certain chemicals in the body that cause pain and inflammation.
Indications:
Difflam Throat Spray is used to provide relief from pain and inflammation associated with sore throat, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and mouth ulcers. It can also be used for post-operative sore throat or other oral cavity procedures. It is an effective treatment for symptoms such as swelling, redness, pain, and discomfort.
Ingredients:
The active ingredient in Difflam Throat Spray is benzydamine hydrochloride 0.15% w/v. Other ingredients include ethanol, glycerol, methyl hydroxybenzoate, saccharin sodium, sorbitol, and purified water.
Contraindications:
Difflam Throat Spray is not recommended for use by individuals who are allergic to benzydamine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients in the spray. It should also not be used by individuals who have had an allergic reaction to other NSAIDs or have asthma, bronchospasm, or rhinitis. Difflam Throat Spray should not be used by children under 6 years of age.
Warnings:
Difflam Throat Spray should be used with caution in individuals with a history of asthma or bronchospasm. It should be used for a short duration and discontinued if there is no improvement in symptoms. If symptoms persist, medical advice should be sought. Do not exceed the recommended dose. If accidentally ingested, seek medical advice immediately. Do not use Difflam Throat Spray for more than 7 days without consulting a doctor.
Side Effects:
Side effects of Difflam Throat Spray are rare but may include a burning or stinging sensation in the mouth or throat, dry mouth, altered taste sensation, nausea, and headache. If any of these side effects persist or become severe, seek medical advice immediately.
